Tadaa!
Some month ago I walked down a hill to an evening course on my usual school path and the lighting that day was so beautiful and inspiring that I knew I had to paint it some day.
I memorized the view and the feeling I had and after a month or so I sketched my idea on my phone.
This is the finished painting I did on my tablet PC.
Photoshop
T5010
1 evening.. some 5h I think.
Here is the little sketch I did on my mobile phone in the middle of a night:

Yo!
I got myself the Adobe Production Premium CS6 pack and decided to test out the 3d painting feature!
Did a quick random sketch.. looked like some little garbage robot -thing..
You can see a quick test of the painting here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-7b5GOZCJs&feature=results_video
It has weird white artifacts sometimes.. but you would mainly use it to establish main colors and sketch out the design, after which you'd switch to the 2D view.
Photoshop
Wacom
Blender

Some 500 Tris
2k texture
EDIT: Here's another render.. 2k texture and 256 one.

Heres a new one..
Some canyon planet.. and a few spaceships flying around it.
I've always wanted to make a really sunny painting some day. Found my Very old sketchbook on CA org and this sketch there. Kinda liked the composition in it. So I thought I might try painting it. Colorizing a BnW sketch was a PAIN! Ughh....
Photoshop
Wacom
About 3 days I think..
Some photo reference of canyons and rocks..

Haven't done any personal "big" paintings for a while now.. so here's one!
I accidentally found a great environment painter in Ustream, named "Dentyou". I got so inspired that I had to quickly sketch out my idea. It got approved by the original artist and now its finished.
It is the same city as mr. Dentyous's city, but a different part of the city.
Photoshop CS5
Wacom Intuos 4
3 days (about 5-8 hours a day i think)
Blender (for 3d blocking)
MS Paint for sketch!
Color and design reference from Dentyous original painting.

Here are some detail shots:

On last day of 1st week we did urban environment painting..
Heres a library right at our institute.
1st pic is the final, 2nd is a more vibrant, saturated version.. I think it looks good.. so I put it here as well.
I only managed to sketch the building and quickly paint rough shapes and lighting.. then I continued at home with a photo reference.
Some 3 - 3,5 hours all together I think..

This time I tried doing some mad made stuff...
The weather was pretty windy and cold.. and I sat in difficult position.. So I managed only to sketch this view. Then I took a photo of it and continued painting at home.
PS CS5
Wacom
Some 3 hours i think..
Reference photo for colors and lighting...
PS, Originally the scene was much colder and a bit lighter.. I tried adding a warming filter and it looked even better.. so I put it here instead of the original color one.

This time we have a task at post-production class where we have to shoot some video and add CG element to it. I teamed up with a classmate Niko Torkkel and we are putting the Feisar hovercraft on our schools parking lot.

Unwrapping, Texturing, Lighting, Shading by me in 3DsMax and Photoshop.

The Maya course is over. Everyone did a character of their own, rigged it, textured if they wanted and posed in the end.
This is mine. I went on a different path than rest of whole class as usual - and did a mechanical robot rig.
For the final render i did these two and started painting on top of one.. painted for 2 hours non-stop. did an awesome illustration out of it - it looked great.. and then Maya did me the most epic trolling - it finished rendering of the 3rd render and it crashed everything that was open. Including the 2 hour painting i did not save even once.
I was too depressed to start over again.. so here are my 2 final renders.. :(
