Started a new illustration.. Its Nue Houjuu!
I actually never beat TH: UFO, so i never met her personally.. but i like her design. Except the wings and the snake are a bit weird design choice..
UPDATE 14.11.2011:
Update on Nue.
Next step is rendering all the lighting and meterials.
Still have no idea what kind of background to do... if any. :(

This is the painting i did for the 1-week digital paiting course's final task. The task was just to simply paint a more detailed, more finished painting than the rest tasks we did...
I've wanted to paint some classic oil-paintingy looking iconic looking paiting for some time now... featuring some shuttle or a spaceship..

No reference (some reference for the launch pad)
About 3-4 days.
btw.. here is the final 1.5h of the painting process: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/18180928

1st day of the digital painting in Photoshop course im going to on this week.
Apparently like 80% of the students on this course have only the minimal basic knowledge of Photoshop - so teacher is forced to keep it really simple and the first day went totally in getting to know the Photoshop layout and its basic functions.
So i went my own way and painted the speakers that were standing on the teachers table right infront of me.
Photoshop CS5

Damit... I just dont.. get it..
In photoshop the picture looks perfect... as soon as i export a PNG - it gets ten times more saturated and a million times darker!! and if i artificially raise the midtones before exporting -> the contrast gets all f*cked up. Very weird. :/
Once again.. you must view the picture in complete darkness to be able to see anything on the screen :)

Unmanned electronic warfare drone aircraft carrying some rockets, bombs, laser and a rotating radar on the top as you can see.
Got
an idea to do this when i was buying a book of Daniem Simon: Cosmic
Motors. This was originally a 100x200 pixel thumbnail of the book. It
featured the "Gravion" vehicle but i saw an aircraft on the thumbnail.
Whole thing streamed on Ustream.
Time 2 hours.
